about

A lot of people ask me "What kind of music is it?" when they hear about the new Technical Academy album. I'm too close to the music to be objective, but it really is hard to pigeonhole. About all I can say is that it's instrumental and experimental, the result of several years spent exploring the rules of composition.

All things considered, I'm pretty happy with the way the album turned out. It's not for people who only like two kinds of music. It's not good background music. It's an album for adventurous ears, with plenty of strange moments. It's, well, different. I hope some of "yunz" like it.

Members of The Technical Academy were bots in an Atari 1040ST computer. They made musical decisions based on b0b's composition rules, and performed together on their respective instruments in real time via a Roland U-110 synthesizer.
